Hi, I’m Sofie, the founder of Uncorporated Studio. With a background in computer science and experience design, in the past few years, I worked at the intersection of art and technology, building digital experiences and tools for artists and cultural institutions. From 2021 to 2023, I worked at Artmatr, a New York–based art fabrication studio known for its robotic painting technology and projects with leading visual artists and blue-chip galleries. In 2024, I started my own practice in Zurich, focusing on new forms of collaboration between artists and intelligent machines.
Uncorporated Studio lives at the intersection of tradition and modernity. While AI has radically transformed how images and content are generated, it has barely touched how art is physically made and experienced. I’m interested in this next frontier—embodied AI —and how the systems with spatial and material intelligence can support creative minds. At the same time, I deeply value traditional hands-on processes in art-making. After all, technology is most interesting when it amplifies care, intention, and craft rather than replacing them.
Uncorporated Studio works with artists on collaborative research and production projects, creates experiences with robotic machines for exhibitions and public events, and produces unique physical pieces from digital art on collectors’ commissions.
